When the temperature is dropping, the leaves are changing color and pumpkins everywhere – it means that fall has arrived. It’s the perfect time to be outside because there’s an endless amount of fun fall activities to do with the family. Turn off the TV, put the phone down and get the family active with these easy and fun fall activities!

Apple-picking at the Orchard

Nothing's better than getting to enjoy the crisp outdoor air and bringing home a bag of fresh picks. There’s a heartwarming feeling about walking through an orchard with the scent of apples and tasting apples picked right off the branch. To add more fun, have a little race with the kids to see how fast they can transfer picked apples to an empty basket with one hand and have them count how many they did pick.

A lot of orchards offer fun fall activities during visiting time, like going on a hayride or a walking tour through the orchard. The kids can also play on playgrounds or pet animals at the farm if there is one located in the same area.

Take a Hike and Have a Picnic

Once fall hits, the air is cool and colorful leaves turn the trails and forest into a breathtaking fall scenescape. Take the family out and discover some of those hiking paths and routes around the community. Let the kids wander and discover the beauty of the season and the wonder of nature.

Take a break from hiking with a fun picnic. Carve a Pumpkin

Everybody knows that pumpkin-carving is one of the fun fall activities to do with the kids. Carve out the family's favorite spooky character, use custom funny or cute designs, and set them out on the front porch. The kids can also design their own jack o'lanterns with paint and stickers while parents can work with them on the more difficult carving parts to create fun memories for the entire family.

Family Movie Night

When it's cold, dark, and raining in the middle of fall, outdoor activities aren't the best choice. So, what's plan b? A Movie night! Grab blankets, snuggle on the sofa and watch a movie as a family.
